What’s iJapan
iJapan is a web site which distribute information about Things to do in Japan, and the discovery about the daily life in Japan. This site is powered by Foreign Students Tourism Correspondents Club of Japan(FSTCCJ).
Most of the tourism information about Japan is firstly edited in Japanese by Japanese staffs, and then arranged language translation for major foreign countries. But we have realized that this method is not very effective since each country’s taste is different, and each country’s points of interest are different. It is true that we never buy nor use travel guide book which is a translation from other language.
The concept of our web site “iJapan” is that information about Japan for foreigner should be arranged by none Japanese staffs, should be edited by each native language staff, also, these staffs should be based locally in Japan.
We think that foreigners living in Japan, depending on where they are from, point of interest are very different from country to country. It is also true that foreigners living in Japan understand a lot about the daily life in Japan, and they discover so many interesting things even about small things since they are very Japanese things, very different from their home country.
We have organized Foreign Students Tourism Correspondents Club of Japan(FSTCCJ), and the reason for working with foreign students in Japan is that experiencing tourism activity is very good way of understanding Japan, and it is very FUN ! We think foreign students in Japan want the opportunities to experience different things out side of their class room, participating real life in different part of Japan during their stay here.
The secretariat of FSTCCJ provide opportunities to those foreign students who want to join our activity, studying and enjoying Japan through tourism activities, and send out information about what they have experienced, what they thought about, and what they want to recommend about with their native language in our web site “iJapan”.
